Blue Museum

Blue Museum is the brainchild of songwriters Michael Hollis and Jeremy Boniello, both veterans
of other well known bands like Breakfast in Fur and Lara Hope and the Arktones. Blue Museum started a
few years ago by Michael Hollis, but they found their sound when Jeremy Boniello joined the project and
began contributing his songs to the band.
Michael and Jeremy composed the record when everyone was forced into isolation during the
pandemic and enlisted award winning composer/producer/engineer Scott Petito to help them realize their
vision on Room to Breathe. Room to Breathe draws influences from power pop groups such as The
Lemonheads, 90’s alternative like The Flaming Lips, and experimental indie rock like Phil Elvrum and
Wilco.
The sudden loss of several close friends, along with the ending of a relationship found Michael
channeling his sense of loss into music to help him cope. When the pandemic began, Jeremy found
himself reflecting on his last few years of life and the suddenly new circumstances we were all thrust into.
These songs on Room to Breathe grew out of a sense of urgency to understand the forces around us that
we can’t control and a need to reflect society to better understand it.
The band is excited to share the songs from Room to Breathe with the world. You can catch them
live with their full band featuring Phoebe Heretz on vocals and keyboards, Phil Motl on drums, Josh
Boniello on bass, and of course, Michael Hollis and Jeremy Boniello on guitar and vocals. Tour dates TBA
